Enquire About This Fish

The Guppy (Poecilia reticulata), also known as the rainbow fish or millionfish, is one of the world's most popular freshwater tropical aquarium fish. Small, vibrant, and incredibly easy to care for, guppies are a staple choice for both beginners and experienced aquarists.Appearance & Variants Guppies are best known for their dazzling variety of colors, patterns, and tail shapes. Males are smaller (around 1.5 inches) but feature long, flowy fan tails and brilliant iridescent shades ranging from electric blue and fiery orange to leopard prints. Females are larger (up to 2.5 inches) with subtle silver or gray bodies and colorful markings mostly restricted to their tail fins. Behavior & Care Temperament: Peaceful, active, and social community fish that thrive alongside other non-aggressive species like tetras, rasboras, and corydoras. Tank Setup: They prefer a minimum tank size of 10 gallons with gentle water filtration, stable temperatures between 72°F and 82°F (22°C–28°C), and plenty of live or artificial plants for swimming and hiding. Diet: Omnivorous surface feeders. They thrive on a varied diet of high-quality flake food, micro pellets, and occasional treats like frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp. Breeding: Guppies are livebearers, meaning females give birth to free-swimming fry rather than laying eggs. They reproduce rapidly, earning them their famous nickname "millionfish."
